Wound to Spec
Pulse Transformers, Wound to Spec
A pulse transformer has to pass an edge, not a sine wave. That makes leakage inductance, interwinding capacitance, and core saturation the whole design problem: too much leakage and the edge rounds off, too much capacitance and the pulse rings, too little volt-time capability and the core saturates part-way through the pulse and the output collapses.
We wind single- and multi-winding pulse transformers in ratios from 1:1 to 10:1 and beyond, in gate-drive, trigger, and data/signal constructions, with volt-time products built to your specification and rise times from nanoseconds to microseconds. Tell us pulse width, amplitude, repetition rate, and duty cycle — our engineers spec the rest for free, and every unit is individually tested before it ships.
Applications
Where Pulse Transformers Are Used
Wherever a fast edge has to cross an isolation barrier intact — gate drive, triggering, data coupling, and telecom interfaces.
Gate Drive
Isolated drive for IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SCRs where the gate sits at a floating potential.
Signal & Data Coupling
Pass data edges across an isolation barrier without a DC path between the two sides.
Trigger & Timing
Thyristor and pulse-power triggering that has to fire consistently, shot after shot.
Telecom / Network Isolation
Line-side isolation for telecom and network interfaces with tight pulse fidelity.
